Le Clos Jordanne

LE GRAND CLOS VINEYARD

The Grand Clos expresses the heart of the Le Clos Jordanne Vineyard terroir.  Sourced from the West part of the best vineyard, it exhibits similar characteristics to the Le Clos Jordanne Vineyard wine, but with more intensity, richness and complexity.

The west side of Le Clos Jordanne Vineyard is especially rich in limestone and shale, well balanced with clay, sand and till. As such, this section features better drainage, allowing the roots to go deeper and providing better nutrition to the vines. Furthermore, the west portion of the vineyard benefits from more ventilation from the lake and thus tends to ripen slower than the east side. This cooling effect provides a long and steady ripening period which helps to build concentration and preserves the freshness and the elegance of the fruit.
