Each vine is cared for by hand, including pruning; shoot-thinning and positioning; leaf plucking; green and hand harvesting. Synthetic fertilizers are never used, nor are synthetic fungicides, pesticides or herbicides. Le Clos Jordanne is endeavouring to make wines that express their "sense of place" and in order to do this must strive to be stewards of the land as well as of the vines.
Ecocert
In the fall of 2005, following a three-year accreditation process, Le Clos Jordanne winery and its vineyards received its first official Ecocert Canada certificate for organic farming.
