GROWING SEASON & HARVEST
The 2004 growing season started with bud-break in mid-May, and flowered in June under good conditions. The crop had already been reduced due to winterkill. The summer that followed was long and cool with frequent rains that interrupted our organic spray cycles. Despite ongoing leaf canopy battles the grapes were in excellent shape. Mid-late September saw a well-timed heat wave (with many days over 28°C) which allowed the grapes to increase their high natural sugar and ripeness levels. The grapes were hand-harvested on October 10th, 2004.
The Le Clos Jordanne Pinot Noir was bottled on February 22nd, 2006.
